I’m married to a wonderful man who’s my biggest fan and loves me beyond belief. We also have two sons. One is a talented musician who is currently studying audio production and engineering and a little about the businesses of making music. The name of his band is Prosthetic Halo and his music is featured in my book videos. My youngest son is a teenager who loves animals, but is also passionate about hunting them. Unfortunately, for the animals, he’s an extremely talented marksman.
I have a degree in accounting (ack) but worked in advertising for ten years before becoming a stay at home mom. As a stay at home mom, I re-discovered my passion for reading, and eventually the love of writing, as well.
A few of my favorite authors (and the ones who have had the biggest impact on my writing life/experience) are Janelle Denison (the first romance I read was The Wilde Side and to this day Scott Wilde is still my favorite hero) and Janelle’s Plotmonkey pals, Leslie Kelly, Julie Leto and Carly Phillips. I can’t even begin to express my thanks to these ladies for the support they’ve given me over the past year. Also, the Soapbox Queens: Jennifer LaBrecque, Rhonda Nelson and Vicki Lewis Thompson.
I’m fascinated by weather, especially hurricanes. The knowledge I’ve learned from watching/studying them over the years often comes in handy since I live near the Carolina coast.
I’m a huge NASCAR fan and turned my husband into an equally huge fan. Every race day you can find us parked in front of the TV, alternately cheering and cussing depending on how our favorite (or least favorite) drivers are doing. Our goal is to someday retire and spend an entire season driving back and forth across the country, going to every race. On the Fun page you can see photos from our 2009 trip to the Daytona 500!
Mexican is my favorite kind of food (closely followed by Italian) but my absolute biggest weakness is Krispy Kreme donuts.
I don’t like applying makeup but agree it’s worth the effort.
I despise pantyhose (but really, who doesn’t).
I mostly wear jeans and t-shirts and have yet to understand why anyone gives me gifts that need to be dry-cleaned.
I live a pretty basic and boring life and have learned that kind of life is actually a true blessing. If there’s anything you’d like to know just send me an e-mail and I’ll get it added.
